The World Language

Today, English dominates in the world of languages . Almost everyone around the globe knows and speaks this language. And for this reason it has been the most popular and spoken language in the world and referred as "global language".

English plays an important role in our daily lives. If you observe your surroundings, you will find English everywhere such as peoples' conversations, books, newspapers, radio broadcasts, TV shows,T-shirt prints, city signs, gadgets and even in the internet. So without knowing English, you won't understand any of these. That's why at a young age, we already start learning English and continue to improve and expand our knowledge in it as our lives go on. And after we finished college, we can use our fluency in English to get a job. And having a good job means having a better life.

English connects people universally. It serves as a worldwide bridge. Knowing English, you can communicate to people from other places. It will also guide you when you visit other countries. As a common language, it lets us create a good relationship to other nations. Try to imagine the world without a global language, there would be chaos, war and misunderstandings because of the inability to understand others. That's why English is necessary, it unites every people in the world as one.

True Meaning of Christmas

     christmas holiday facebook cover
"Time sure flies when your'e having fun."
It's really unbelievable that we've already entered the month of December, it feels like we've just started the -ber months. People are getting fired up because in a few more days, it will soon be Christmas then the new start of the year.
Christmas is approaching faster than we've expected. It's just around the corner. I was so caught up with so many responsibilities at home and at school that I didn't noticed that November just ended. Maybe I need to relax more.
As the month of September comes, we Filipinos already start preparing for Christmas that''s why we are known for having the longest Christmas holiday. Sign of Christmas begins from the cool breeze we feel, we hear Christmas jingles played on the radio and decorations are everywhere. This is not bad but from the walk of life since typhoon Yolanda devastated the islands of Visayas, it is not necessary to celebrate Christmas in extravagance. We have to share the feelings of the victims and survivors by changing the luxurious way to simple one. It is most important to pray for assistance for these poor people, to share with them what we have especially food, clothing and medical needs. For as a follower of Christ, how do you think of keeping with you what you have while you know others are suffering and dying.

This is what Christmas should be- loving and caring for other people especially the less fortunate. For this way, I'm pretty sure Jesus Christ will be pleased to come this advent season.

           Merry Christmas everyone!

Climate CHANGE

Earth on Fire           Have you ever noticed that the world has gotten hotter? Have you wondered what it means? Have you pondered what the future will lead us if this phenomenon remains unsolved and continues to grow worse everyday?
This natural phenomenon is known as "Climate Change". It is the unexpected increase or decrease of temperature of a region. Its effects are observed in the environment. Glaciers have shrunken, lands have dried, forests have burned down and people have gotten ill because of the extreme rise of the temperature. All of these are happening because of our wrongful doings to our environment. Human activities such as cutting down trees, emitting harmful smokes from vehicles, overspreading of scattered trash, igniting plastics and rubbers are what caused Climate Change and what's making it a bigger threat. If we don't stop these  reckless actions soon, we will lead ourselves to our own destruction.
The solution to Climate Change is simple. The answer is in the name of the problem, all we have to do is CHANGE. Firstly, lessen the cutting of trees instead plant more trees. Don't you know that without these trees, there won't be any oxygen we can breathe. Secondly, if your destination is not that far avoid using vehicles but instead walk. This way you are already helping Mother Earth and you are exercising your body. Two birds with one stone, right? Thirdly, pick up every trash you could see. If we continue this practice, we will be able to witness the beauty of our environment. And do you believe that one man's trash is another man's treasure?- yes, this is true.We can earn money by selling trash like plastic bottles to junk shops. Fourthly, avoid burning plastics and rubbers. By doing so, you will spread dangerous chemicals in air that are harmful to our health and environment. There is another safe mean of getting rid of these materials,we can decompose these materials by burying it in the ground. And finally, always keep in mind the 3Rs- Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. This way you can lessen the trashes, improve your creativity and save money.
Through these changes, we will be able to change ourselves for the better. We will be able to change our Mother Earth's unfavorable state. We will be able to change our  future.

My Reflection II

History repeats itself. The conditions now are just the same as before. Nothing has changed since the last grading.
For me, this grading is a blast from the past. It reminds me of our experiences during the First grading like being in a hurry with the projects and activities, copying each other's notes, last minute reviews, once-a-week class...feels like deja vu, doesn't it?
I think the condition just got worse because we only  had one lesson and one quiz throughout the grading unlike the previous grading, we had many. But still, we're glad we managed to extract even a single drop of  essence of this grading. .

For our second grading, all we tackled about are HTML. It stands for Hypertext Mark-up Language. It is the main mark-up language for creating web pages and other information that can be displayed in a web browser. It is written in a form of HTML elements consisting of tags enclosed with angle brackets. These "tags" are the building block of all websites. They are very important because the purpose of a web browser is to read HTML documents and composed them as web pages. So without these tags, there won't be any websites you can visit.
Next grading, I will do my best to prevent it from becoming the same outcome such as the First and Second. I will pass my projects early so that I won't be in a rush when the deadline is near. I will quit being dependent on my classmates  by writing my own notes. I will review my lessons more often so that I won't  have to last minute review before the quiz. This way I won't have to worry about my grades from getting low.
I am looking forward to dig deeper on HTML and tags. I just hope we won't have to miss any more meetings in TLE because I want to learn more about it.

"Unravel the Causes, Build the Solution, Empower Science Clubbers into Action"

"Undo the causes". What are these causes? This is the very first question coming out of one's mind why globally we have natural calamities. But I want to stick to this country's problems. First, lack of self discipline. I couldn't understand why is it difficult to discipline one's self. But one thing for sure about this is lack of education. If only people, especially the poor and the needy have education, it could be better for them to understand and apply discipline among themselves. It shows most of the time they are not concern what ever happens to their environment. What they know is that they just want to live, no plans, no ambitions, no directions. Just like doing everything they want and come what may.
Government organizations and even NGOs try their best to bring the environment to survival. An example is Ms. Gina Lopez of Abs-cbn have come her way for many years now to regain the Ilog Pasig and "esteros" in Manila. She tries very hard each year to bring back the beauty and cleanliness of Ilog Pasig through "Run for Ilog Pasig". In some other places still during heavy rains and typhoons the problem remains the same-garbages from everywhere. But what is good about Ms. Gina Lopez is that she continue her battle to preserve the river.
Here in ISNHS, Science clubbers can also do something like what SSG has done. Many years ago and still going on here is, every student picks up garbage before going out of the campus gate every afternoon classes. It helps ISNHS look beautiful and clean. Just a proof that in behalf of so great number of student, still we can keep our campus presentable to the eyes of everyone. For this reason I salute ISNHS students for disciplinary action turned to be a solution well done.

My Teacher,My Hero

When you hear the word "hero", what comes into your mind first? Iron man, Batman, Juan Dela Cruz...these are my wild guess.  One doesn't need to have cool outfit, supernatural powers nor fight bad guys to prove he is a hero, he just have to be someone who serves as a good influence to others, does good deeds in his own free will and thinks others first before himself. For me my heroes, other than my parents, are my teachers.

Ever since, teachers are heroes. Leaders of the nations undergone training from the teachers. I say this because education is the basic foundation to succeed in every goal  pointing to a direction of a better vision. You can't be a doctor, a nurse neither president if you don't have education. Because to be one of these people you should have something in your brain and teachers are best providers of  the ideas to be one of the professionals.
To be a teacher, you should possess great patience to handle students. To deal with students many hours everyday is not a simple joke. To think, students spend most of their times with the  teachers than with their parents. Well and good if the students are easy to deal with. But if they are those who give them pain in the head you cannot blame some teachers in the news who hit the students because they feel they are already fed up. This is the reason why teachers are heroes!

My Modern Day Hero

When I was just a child, I always loved watching cartoons especially the ones that has superheroes. As far as I can remember, those cartoons were Superman, Batman, Ben 10, Power Rangers and many more. I dreamed that one day I would become a superhero. As I reach the age of 8, I got bored of cartoons and learned that superheroes don't really exist in the real world. That discovery broke my heart and shattered my dream.
When I was in elementary, my HEKASI teacher discussed to us about the Philippine History. She told us how the Spaniards conquered our country and enslaved the Filipinos for 333 years. She also told us how the Filipinos broke free from the invader's hands and took back our country.I discovered that heroes do exist, although they are not "super". Heroes like Jose Rizal, Lapu-lapu, Bonifacio and many great heroes started a rebellion against the invaders and succeeded. All of them sacrificed their lives for the sake of the Filipinos.  My spirit was lightened, I had a new dream to meet these courageous heroes. But sadly, Rizal and the others lived many years ago. My dream will always remain as a dream.
In a mature age, that's when it hit me. All this time I wanted to meet a hero personally but they are actually by my side since the moment  I was born.
My heroes are my parents! I said this because it is true. Without them, I would not have existed. When I came into this world, they were the first two people who took care of me. They were awake for countless nights to make me stop crying. They fed me, bathed me and even changed my undies. They gave me all the things I needed. They are my first teachers-they taught me how to read and count, and  good manners, discipline and moral. When I started to go to school, they helped me in my assignments and projects ,and helped me understand the lessons. They work all day to meet our daily needs. As I grow, I learned to stand on my own but still they are always at my side ready to assist me when I fall.
Mama, Papa, you guys are my Hero! Thank you for everything you've done for me. I love you guys so much! I owe you guys a debt of gratitude.
